CEN Support Meetings

Our volunteers do their best to provide you with the right tools for your job search. We understand that losing a job is very disheartening and can generate a lot of negative feelings. But, we strive to be a positive group that encourages and promotes optimism, energy and progress toward your goal of finding that next right job. We believe that the best way to reduce stress is to be actively engaged in your job search all day, every day, and treating your job search as a full time job.

Losing a job is devastating for most people. Overcoming the negative feelings and recovering enough to begin a search is difficult. And conducting a job search is not easy - it is a full-time job - another 40 to 50 hour per week job. We are here to help in that process. We can't make it simple - we can't make it easy. But we can help to make it less painful, more successful and possibly quicker. We can help you focus and make this new "full time job" something that will bring its own rewards - primarily a successful move that taps into your motivated skills and advances your career.

The best way to release any anger and focus on your job search is to turn your search over to God. Ask Him for help. Let Him know that you can't do it alone. He has a job in mind for you, and your job - a full-time job - is to search for that next job that is a part of His plan. You do your part - He will do His. Trust in the Lord. You will be less anxious and more self-confident as you meet people and search for the next opportunity. Along the way you will be developing skills and a network that will serve you well into the future.

Our meetings are faith-based, recognizing that God has a plan for each of us that includes a job He wants us to have. Therefore, it is your task to search out the job He has planned for you. We will spend the first five minutes or so of each meeting helping you spiritually. Check the CEN Event Calendar for meeting schedules.
