Our Mission

The Catholic Employment Network (CEN) was formed in May 2002 by several parish job search ministry leaders.

Our Mission is to serve the St. Louis area community who need help during their job search transition by providing spiritual and practical job search support services . CEN conducts job search workshops throughout the year, addressing the critical topics of the job search: networking, interviewing, resume-writing, etc. Workshops are held are various parishes throughout St. Louis City, St. Louis County and St. Charles County.

Parish groups are very active and help job seekers in a variety of ways; many hold individual job support groups within their parish, providing support and encouragement, discuss effective job search techniques and advice for specific job search situations/problems. Some of the groups also provide spiritual support in their meetings. All of the parish chapters can help job seekers through one-on-one coaching.

Prayer For Employment

God our Father and Creator, your son Jesus, told us not to worry about our physical and material needs; to observe how you care for the little birds and clothe the fields with beautiful flowers. Trusting in your concern for us, we beg you, hear our prayer for employment. May work soon be found and our mind set at rest. Turn our worry into joy and “prosper the work of our hands for us; prosper the work of our hands.” We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Career Development Series

Join us on Tuesday, April 19, from 7:15-8:30pm in Parish Meeting Room 224, for our next Career Development Series meeting.

At this meeting, career networking pro Frank Danzo will lead us in learning more about building a network and making it work. In addition to being the past President and founding board member of The Catholic Employment Network, Frank is a career coach and professional networker. In his book People Hire People, Not Resumes, a must read for anyone in the midst of a job transition, Frank shares his proven process to career transition based on his own personal experiences when he was downsized from Anheuser-Busch.

In 2007, Frank founded Career Networking Pro, an organization focused on teaching clients the life skills of career networking and relationship building as well as providing the forum for continued personal and professional development and the life skill of networking. Today Career Networking Pro has over 230 active members.

We hope you will join us so we can continue to help each other! If you have questions or would like to help, please contact:
